So much for being a regular blogger!

I had our precious baby boy February 26,2010 at 10:40 a.m. I am so thankful every day that he is in our lives and I'm sure if I ever get to blogging regularly you are going to find out a million reasons why I feel this way! :)

Even knowing parenthood would be life-altering, time consuming, and overwhelming, I had no idea it would be like this. Parenthood really is the most amazing experience EVER. It also happens to be a black hole for time. In the beginning I simply had no time because I had no energy... Erik and I were tired, living like zombies, trying to feel human on just a few minutes or hours of sleep each night. Eventually four hours per night felt like a full night's rest. Then as I tried to resume some of my normal life activities I realized that everything takes much longer when you have an infant... you have to pack/restock the diaper bag, change a diaper, nurse, and put your child in his car seat, prepare milk if you'll need it, let the dogs out and yell at them for digging when you forgot they were outside and left them there for too long, finally pack everything into the car, and realize that you forgot to either shower, brush your teeth, or put on your shirt.... time goes so quickly and "on-time" doesn't exist for a while. Some call it living on "Baby Time"; I much prefer "Island Time" abd wonder whether I will ever experience it again. Then our little one began to sleep longer, going to bed earlier, and finally I had some free time. It's been this way for about a month now, but that "free time" has been spent getting in a quick work out, cleaning, reading a parenting book, or simply watching a movie with Erik 'til I fall asleep. Blogging has been a desire, but wayyyyyy, way down my list of things to do.

Now here I am with such little extra time and yet so much to say. I really hope to do some catch-up entries in the near future. I want to tell everyone about my natural birth experience (AMAZING), Benjamin's GERD, and all things awesome about parenthood. I also want to share photos and clips of Ben growing each and every day. I want to give advice to other first-time moms regarding baby supplies - what to get and what is a waste of precious $$ that you can spend on adorable clothes or enormous numbers of diapers instead. And I hope to still have enough left in me to talk about things other than baby, though I must admit that really is all that's on my mind these days.

I am so happy to be making my first post since having my baby... and I am looking forward to making many more :)
